Afternoon Reflection - July 8

I learned today that there is a whole world of educational apps I've never heard of.  It's a bit overwhelming to figure out which apps can enhance our students learning in the best way but hopefully with the tools we learned in class we can figure it out.  One app I learned about was Book Creator for the ipad.   Some fourth grade students were using this app to create interactive books on an animal report.  These students were so engaged in the learning process and were able to do so much more than if they had just made a poster board with pictures. (Which is what my reports consisted of when I was that age.)  I hope to find ways to use this app in my future classroom, whether its for a report on animals or researching volcanos.  I love that students can easily share their creations with family and friends as well.  Since I had never heard of this app before I watched a few YouTube videos to help me better understand how Book Creator works.

  1. That app looks so cool! I like how even though it is a book, it can have videos included with it, seeing as it is an online book. I think this is an example of modification because the technology can enhance the animal report and add content. I could see this app easily being used in elementary and secondary classrooms.
