In this constantly changing and updating world of technology we need to begin to think a very different way. We cannot expect that our future students will communicate and interact the way that we remember. However, this also means that we need to rethink how we structure our lessons, and how we will encourage our students to use technology in our classes. We can encourage interaction and focus by having students take communal notes with Google Docs in classrooms to help them work on note taking skills. We are also able to encourage more critical thinkers by opening their eyes to directed searches and assessing resources through Google searches, and Wikipedia.
We can also use their own interests to give them a way to
channel their creativity; and this can be through taking a role in informing
the world through Wikipedia on a subject that they are very passionate about.
Through this we are giving them a look at how they can change the world, even
at the youngest grade bands.

Nice reflection Carleigh. I agree technology is to prevalent today to not be utilized in the classroom. Although I'm excited to try some of these strategies in lessons. I worry about getting caught up in the technology for the sake of technology vacuum that can bog teachers down. We definitely need to make sure the technology plays a purposeful role in the lesson, before making the choice to use something to instruct with.
