Redyifing the Old Standard

I've been racking my brain trying t thing of ways that i could redefine a lesson. I thought about math, and then about science might be easy, or maybe history... In the end I couldn't really think of a good example. Mainly because I fairly inexperienced with lesson plans and core standards. However, I'm still excited to try! I think that when it happens in my classroom, and it will happen ( I hope). that it will happen organically. The concept of redefinition fits my pedagogy perfectly. I'm a firm believer in the New Conceptual Mind approach to education. If you haven't read Dainel Pink's book New Conceptual Mind, make it a priority. Pink argues that the more left brain centered skills, which were highly coveted in the early part of the century, and losing ground and right brain skills are becoming increasingly more valuable. The paradigm has shifted and we need students to become creative problem solvers. I need to model creative problem solving to them, and I can think of no better way than redefinition. I'll be on the look out for ways to ramp up students learning using the SAMR model.

By the way, I'm going to steal this idea!
