SAMR- Innovation in Teaching

One exciting tool I learned was the SAMR model of technological integration. Standing for substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition, this model provides a definition for how you are using technology in the class room. What is useful as a teacher is that it can provide a road map for how we can push the limits of our technology use.

My goal is to always try to push my use of technology to the next level. By constantly striving for redefinition,  you are making progress in the right direction. Sometimes what we are used to is comfortable, but we need to objectively look at what is best for the students and adapt to the new tools available to us.

  1. That is a great representation of the SAMR. It really shows the levels of integration of technology. You might want to check out the programming logic tree for SAMR. I really enjoy it when a model is self referencing in quirky ways. Good luck in redefining your classroom lessons.
