In the end, teaching basically comes down to one thing; loving the students. The last two days of lessons ended on a high note. Quite frankly I believe that any teacher who truly loves what they are doing and loves the students, will embrace anything that will help them be more successful even if it is technology that might as well have been created on Mars. I am a firm believer that we have a greater love for the thing (or person) for which we make the greater sacrifices. Teaching is one of the professions that requires considerable sacrifices with the benefit that you get to do something that you love.
So true! No matter what we do, we need to love our students. Is there something in particular you are going to do in order to show your students you care?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Tim! We're going to be doing a lot of learning this year. We'll learn to speak the lingo of the profession, talk theories and model methods. But at the end of the day, we need to love our students. I was glad that Jeff ended on this note and I'm glad you took the time to note the significance of this truth.
