Evening reflection7/8 Connectivism

Hi Jeff and Classmates,
Connectivism is a learning theory that is important to our digital age. As a our social media and technology rapidly changing connectivism is a learning theory that we need to adapt to the changes. I think that as teachers this is what we need to do is learn to incorporate technology in a fun and educational way. Great examples would be instagram projects such as Writers 6 on instagram or #comments4kids on Twitter.

I believe that when we did the "fishbowl" activity this demonstrated connectivism. We were able to engage in an online discussion where we can express ideas but also socialize with other learners. This can be a great activity for the learners that are shy or don't get the opportunity to talk. This activity was also a learning experience because the talking needed a moderator. It was was hard to get a word in and it seemed like only four people were able to speak.

Thanks,
Ali

  1. Excellent! Yes....I left this very loosely structured so you could see where and when you need to put your own structures in place. There are a lot of ways to do this idea...find one that works for you and your kiddos and have some great discussions!
