Technology in 4th grade

I have a new found love and it is technology in the classroom! These past two days have opened up my eyes to a new and exciting way to teach. I was worried that I would become a curriculum drone and do the same lessons over and over again, but now I see that lesson plans are endless through technology.
For example, instead of writing on paper about their summer, I might use ePals and teach them how to write a proper email to another student in another state or country.
I could teach them how to use Google slides and they can create a presentation based on the book they read instead of a book report
There really is a million different things that you can do, and I am very excited to dive in.
Of course, I can only do all of this if I find a school that has all the resources I need.

  1. I agree with the fear of being a curriculum drone. There are so many ways to differentiate our instruction. I also think this would lead to more creativity from us as teachers by not forcing us to teach the same mundane way.
