The idea of connectivism is a little overwhelming to be honest.
There are so many different directions to take this broad concept in and apply
it to the classroom. The idea of that is a little bit frightening to me. I find
myself reacting to it similarly to how I react to 80% of the questions my
sister (and maid of honor) is asking me about my preferences on things in my
wedding... I didn't realize there were so many details that I needed to have an
opinion about!!! The vastness of the possible applications is exciting, but
also something that I will need to take the time to manage and pick and choose
for my classroom style. I need to recognize that it is not possible for me to
do it all and that I really shouldn't try. If I can pick a few ways to incorporate
connectivism and the various technologies we've learned about into my classroom
and really focus on mastering these methods to the best of my ability, I
believe I will be a much more effective teacher.
That being said, I'm leaving this class
feeling really excited and optimistic about all the tools available to me to
enhance my classroom and enhance my student's learning environment!
