Connectivity is all about a one-to-one level, through the use of technology or in-person. With the teacher as a romodel, creating a safe space for their students, and by asking guided questions, connectivity can be a good thing for education. Letting students explore with technology, before introducing it into your lesson, However, I struggle with the idea, going past these levels. When will the teacher become unnecessary for student learning. I believe that a teacher should be a guide and a facilitator of knowledge and learning. This concept scares me on what might happen in the future with teachers.
Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteI completely understand your concern for where we as teachers may be in the future. On the other hand, I do think that teachers are necessary as facilitators of learning. Maybe in the future class sizes will be smaller because students will only be expected to be in class a couple of times per week and will be in charge of their learning the rest of the time! Even when they are not physically in the classroom, students could be in communication with the teacher for any guidance they might need.
