Welp, the second part of the class today made me realize that I should probably work on rebuilding my social media presence. Its been a good long 7 years, but the benefits are far too great. I will take a moment while everyone rushes to add me to all their accounts...........Okay great. My off the grid beard will be staying though, I have become accustomed to its weight. What I was trying to say before I got distracted by my own image is that social media is needed to connect with our future students. However, I believe when used properly we can connect with our students at a level that many of us never found when we went through school. We must evolve with technology, because if we dont, then we wont evolve with our students.
I will say I felt a little bogged down with the idea of licensing. That website that allows for specific searching for licensed and unlicensed media is a god send. I would hate to have a student work extremely hard on a project, only to have youtube pull it down.

Feeling the same, Marshall. I am super thankful for the Creative Commons search site. Also wondering how to get back on social media. I don't know about you, but the main reason I avoid social networks and media is I feel like it sucks the life out of me, like a vortex where I actually become DISconnected with the world I'm a part of. But if that is where students connect and learn, that is where I should be.
