On Friday I was exposed to the SAMR model, and it truly fascinated me. The tools that are out there that I could use with my future students is truly unreal. Taking resources that I have available, and going that extra mile will only enhance my student's learning experiences. When I look back on when I was in school, the lessons that stood out to me the most were the ones that went above and beyond. Something that I want to implement into my future classroom is blog writing. The concept of making students feel like they are contributing to society with their knowledge is powerful. Showing them that their learning is impactful will make a difference in the students engagement! I plan to implement writing blog posts about specific content, reflections, and anything else that I come up with. I will take it upon myself to reach out to the teaching community to ask if other educators or students would respond to my kids, and give them feedback. Receiving responses from outside the classroom will engage my students, and make them hungry for learning! As an educator, I will dive deeper into the content by making sure my students are engaged in what they are learning, and that what they are learning can apply to their lives. All it takes is a little more effort from me, and to turn to technology to help my students reach that redefinition stage of learning!
This model below really helps me understand what the SAMR model looks like education!

Meagan I love that you pointed out creating a sense of empowerment for your students! It really is such a critical part of gaining a sense of identity in this era of publicity through technology. We need to help them find the line between creating their technological identity, and understanding that they have a responsibility to go with it.
