Coming into this class about using technology in the classroom, I did not think you could successfully integrate technology in a math class. Math seems so black and white and straightforward. However, I have learned that there are so many ways to use technology to enhance learning, even in math! There are how-to videos online to help teach content or to show different methods or even to research how math looks around the world. I plan to use YouTube videos in the classroom for students to learn different math strategies. Also, the concept of collaborative learning for math, specifically using data and allowing students to figure it out. I am now excited to teach students math that is applicable in real like and can easily lend itself to careers. I plan to integrate spreadsheets and other programs to show students how to effectively sort and analyze data. There are so many jobs available now that involve math and I hope to set students up for these types of jobs. I also hope to create experiences that allow students to collaborate with students all around the globe. Math can be a universal language and if facilitated correctly it can be very beneficial in helping students collaborate.

Being a fellow math geek and soon to be teacher, I really like the way you broke down a lot of great ways that technology can be helpful for teaching math. I am definitely going to use some of these ideas in my classroom, like YouTube videos, to create fun and engaging activities. I'm sure your students will enjoy being in your classroom with these teaching strategies.
