There are so many different ways to show your students you are proud of them and to inspire them in doing more good work. I absolutely did not think of using the social media that students already use in the classroom.
On Instagram, there are many teaching communities from all around the world with the simple input of a # or a search. You can create a class account and share those loves and shares. This will inspire the students to continue doing more good work.
Then there's twitter, where the # came from. On Twitter with a simple# and a link to a blog, you can incorporate more than one social media to have students engage with the material and the class. This also allows them to understand the bigger global world in a healthy way
FINALLY: THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA HELPS YOU CONNECT WITH THE STUDENTS AT THEIR LEVEL WHILE TEACHING THEM APPROPRIATE USES OF SOCIAL MEDIA!!!!
As a result, using social media is useful and helpful in the class for student encouragement! If the schools and districts don't allow student faces being public, there are many ways to hide the face: blurring, over the shoulder take, hand working video, etc.
From my time as a teacher, the kids loved it when I shared their work, even if it wasn't curriculum based like the one below:

This is awesome, Sristee! I love all the notes your students left you, how sweet! I also never thought about using social media in the classroom, what a great idea. You think of it being too public to use, but Im glad there are appropriate ways to integrate social media while still maintaining students' privacy. I think this will help us connect with and stay relevant with students.
