Thought you weren't a visual learner? YOU THOUGHT WRONG
I loved the example of the 6 photos. I can't get over how rad (at least I think so) it would be to show 6 photos at the beginning of a unit and have the kids come up with stories and talk about them, and then tell them MY version of the story (which would be the historical event I have planned the pictures to go along with), and hopefully engage them more in the story part of history instead of having them just shut off because "Boooo, history is boring it sucks and you suck."
I think a lot of my job is going to be finding ways to get my kids to see history as this super cool journey of discovery. I like the idea of using visuals to help them get there.

I really liked this idea as well. I had planned on having a free-writing assignment in at the beginning of the class periods, but I would like to have six photos ready to go for the days that are bit more of struggle for students to get on task. Also, love the history meme.
