I honestly had never thought about using a blogging site in the classroom before hearing about it in our class. Only having used it a few times since then, I like how easy and intuitive it is to use, and I am definitely considering on how to use it in my own classroom. In the ELA content area, writing will definitely play a large part in my course content, and I think that adding the option in for typing in addition to writing will not only help accommodate students, but it will also give them more autonomy over how they want to write. I know that for me personally, I have a hard time writing at the same pace as my thinking, and typing allows for me to get the words out of my head at a speed that doesn't frustrate me. I'm also considering including the option for a video response to writing prompts, as the same core concepts are still being met by students for that type of medium.
I also like the idea of having a collaborative classroom blog for some writing assignments, where students can interact with one another's work and give feedback on it. It will also save me from having to decipher dozens of different handwritings!
