Technology is not evil!

No, your students and children are not depressed because of their phones. They are not misbehaving because of their video games. We need to learn new management skills in an ever-growing technological society. The management skills of 100 years ago are not going to work on the kids today. There are so many different and new factors that are influencing your kids' lives that we need to take in account. Students are now being forced to be in front of a screen all day in school, but then reprimanded when they use a different screen.

We are not using our technology in a useful way! You have to ask yourself, is the technology making your life easier or is it better for the kid? Are audiobooks evil or are they extremely helpful for someone with dyslexia? How can we use the new technology to help students succeed? Audiobooks are extremely helpful for those with dyslexia or someone who is blind.

Just because it does not work for one person does not mean it won't work for someone else. Our job as educators is to help each individual student to the best our our abilities, and understanding who our students are and what works best for them (especially technology-wise) will make learning so much easier for the students. Technology is not evil, when used correctly it is our best friend!
