Google, I thought I knew you.....

#truth

I thought that I was decently versed in both Google search and Google Docs. I was wrong. Today was SUPER educational and I feel a little overwhelmed, but I'm glad I'm learning all this information now and not in the middle of the school year. I want to be able to use this technology in the classroom and I hope that my mentor teachers are on the same page. I know that both Google Docs and Google search are essential tools in this day and age and I want to be a teacher that embraces new technology that comes along. Also, even if I am not a tech genius by the end of this two day session, I'm sure that there will be at least one students in each class that would be willing to help me out if I really needed it.
In regards to Wikipedia, it was nice to know that you can use it as a reliable and credible source. I now know how to find the quality of the article and I can teach my students how to do the same.

  1. It is crazy to me how much there is to learn about technology and how we can utilize it in our everyday lives! It is a little overwhelming, I agree. The cool thing about technology is that it is constantly changing so everyone is having to learn something new too! The fact that we have technology in the back of our brains, is the first step for utilizing it in our classrooms. We simply need to keep being curious!

  2. I know! Right? Pretty cool, how many different technology options we have at our fingertips these days. Especially with google and that most of these options are free. I wonder how dependant society will become on all these services and if there will be a potential for abuse or manipulation in the future?
