Connect to Technology, Connect to Everything

Me too. But have no fear! Technology drives the world as we know it and this can be such an amazing thing. Jeff's class has opened the doors to endless possibilities when it comes to connectivity in the classroom. Connectivism is the idea that the process of learning is social and collaborative, which, if you think about it, takes what is already the goal in the classroom and puts a digital spin on it. 

With everything that teachers need to balance on a daily basis, it seems crazy to add one more huge thing to the list. However, the ISTE standards for educators are extremely manageable. Thinking of educators as "learner, leader, citizen, collaborator, designer, facilitator, and analyst" honestly makes the application of technology to the classroom that much easier. It just makes sense when you think of a teacher who implements technology into a curriculum as a way to challenge students (and themselves). This just means teachers need to be the best form of an advocate and mentor for their kids that they can be. It's time for teachers to adapt to the new ways technology can benefit the classroom!

    Your post touches on some ideas that I keep battling with concerning Connectivism theory. I was contemplating on whether Connectivism has come to eradicate all the learning theories such as behavioral theory, cognitive theory, and psychoanalytic theory to mention a few but Mr. Jeffery's touch on the topic and your post give me a better understanding of the theory. I now understand that Connectivism does not contradict the previous learning theories but instead focuses on how information and ideas are found, assessed and connected to the learner's mind, other people, or concrete objects. Great touch on Connectivism
