Connected with the world

I love the idea of using technology in the classroom to do things that we previously unthinkable and completely redefines the way you can have guest speakers. No longer will people have to travel to come talk to the class. All it takes now is a camera and a connection.

 I want to be able to have contacts out in the field be able to be able to do a video chat about what they do and hold a quick Q&A session. To see and talk to someone that is currently out doing something that they are just learning about is amazing. I will be teaching in a high school biology classroom.  There are so many different fields in the biological studies. Having an expert be able to not just come in but to give a talk from wherever they are and see what they are actually doing is an opportunity that just wasn't available to students before.
