I am curious why we had to wait until week 5 to attend this technology course. This would have been super helpful right from the start. I knew I had a lot to learn about technology but whew! I am impressed by the collaborative notes in google docs. It was a new and beneficial experience for me to be in class and not have to juggle note-taking and watching the instructor. Thank you Tyler, Zoe, and Sristee:) I had no idea that google docs was so multifaceted. And Wikipedia=mind blown! Serious meow. How have I lived so long without knowing about these tools? I guess I have been living under a rock.
Having the generation gaps outlined and explained was intriguing, sobering and slightly alarming. Why have we not heard the term 'digital native' in any of our other courses? It seem like this is an important component in classroom management. Before today I had thought of cell phones simply as a distraction. I will be digesting this class all night.

I agree this should have been the first class we take, I learned so much this morning. I also loved how he talked about the different generations and how they all like to communicate in different ways very important. So much information loving it.
ReplyDeleteAlso in agreement over here. Why are we not talking more about students using their phones as their source of community. Like what the what? We are learning classroom management skills but if you shut down your entire class within the first 5 minutes of class by invalidating their way of connecting, well, lets just say you're screwed. My mind is blown by all of this, in a very good way. At the end of the day, don't we all just want to connect with out students and help them grow and achieve greatness, whatever that means for them?
