Connectivism is the theory that learning happens best when students are able to collaborate to take charge of their education in a dynamic way. This theory is encapsulated in the ISTE standards in a clear and attainable fashion. I particularly appreciated the role of the educator as designer, "design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability."

This helps the students to be more engaged in their learning enabling them to become life-long learners.
