What standards will we teach?

In a digital world where information is at your fingertips, what do we still need to teach these kids?

Looking back at the first part of class and the discussions that went on I came away with one big concept. No matter the change in technology and methods of teaching one of our biggest goals is for students to learn to become citizens of the world. Whether it is online or in person, your actions and words have consequences. You can choose to be kind. On the other hand, you can forget that there is a living, breathing person with feelings on the other side of that screen.

They used to teach manners and etiquette to students. I think the challenge for teachers today is to teach online manners. The ideas are the same, only the venue has changed. How do you write an email to different people? How can you connect with a community?  How can you disagree or have a debate but not turn it into a fight? How do you want to be seen?
