Physical Education should be an environment where students should be getting away from technology, correct? There should be no phones or any other electronical devices in sight when we are in the P.E. setting, right? While this may have been true many years ago, technology has made many advances that may turn to be beneficial for us in P.E. With most students having access to a smart phone or to a laptop, P.E. teachers can use this to their advantage to effectively teach their students. Students today are basically glued to their phones, so teachers can also use this to their advantage. Smart phones can provide apps and tools that will help the teacher examine and/or enhance their student's physical skills and improvements. Online sites like YouTube can provide other methods of teaching lessons that may fit the students most productive way of learning. Students may also be able to upload their own videos of physical activity for feedback on each other or from the teacher. There is an endless number of possibilities on how to incorporate technology in physical education. I encourage every P.E. teacher to try to find ways to use technology in their classroom.
