Connectivism: the real way students learn now

What an absolutely interesting concept!!!! To think our way of looking at how students learn is changing to connect with the new generation is beyond amazing!!! We all know, now, that kids that we will be teaching learn through connectedness and social interactions. Because of this, the question becomes why take this away from students, when they can engage with the content area in a more effective way by being social. This includes everything we talked about the day before: using technology and the internet in the student's day to learn so that they know better educational uses of these devices.

This allows students to be able to share content and ideas with one another on a GLOBAL scale so that they know they are all connected. Furthermore, I understood how powerful this is for students to understand how the lives they are living fit into the global environment and how others' live their lives as well. It helps them understand the the similarities and differences among students across the world. A key example is the one Jeff gave in class. A student in Saudi Arabia wasn't affected on the daily scale by something the government was interacting with just like how some things our government does, does not affect our daily lives. Seeing that impact first hand is CRUCIAL to understanding how the world is connected for the students that are living lives with technology.
